Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robin Roy (ranked 1548 p4p, 83 weight class) and Hayato Sakuraba (ranked 1986 p4p, 102 weight class). Robin Roy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robin Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hayato Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba tries to clinch but Roy moves out of range.
Roy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Roy counters with a low kick, right behind Sakuraba 's knee.
Roy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sakuraba tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roy was well out of range. Poor timing from Sakuraba.
Sakuraba looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Roy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakuraba manages to avoid it.
A nice side step and Sakuraba releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Roy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sakuraba. That did some damage!

Roy feints and then cracks Sakuraba's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sakuraba down.

Roy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Roy's corner calls for a 1-2. Roy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

A countering left hand to the body from Sakuraba misses.
Sakuraba connects with a single shot there.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sakuraba crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Roy - the referee stops the clock and Sakuraba gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Roy. Sakuraba manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Sakuraba shoots for a double leg takedown but Roy sprawls well. He's pushed Sakuraba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Roy bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roy lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Sakuraba tries to pull guard but Roy holds him up against the cage and eventually Sakuraba drops back down to his feet.
Robin Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayato Sakuraba.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sakuraba escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Roy arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Sakuraba's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

After winning the bout, Robin Roy thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
