PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris George (ranked 4600 p4p, 384 weight class) and Count Thizzula (ranked 3141 p4p, 0 weight class). Thizzula has chosen I've Been Down as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Count Thizzula!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thizzula forces George back against the cage and clinches.
Thizzula throws an elbow but it's blocked.
George is trying to pull guard but Thizzula has him pressed against the cage.

George decides to pull guard.
George can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thizzula controls the pace.
Thizzula being controlled here momentarily.
Thizzula stands and throws George's legs to the side, diving into side control.
George really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George can't do much from the bottom here.
Thizzula moves into full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thizzula tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
George wants to hold on but Thizzula pushes him away.
George is working to get back to half guard.

Thizzula working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Thizzula thowing shots but they're missing.
Thizzula tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thizzula throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Thizzula with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
George really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Thizzula controlling the pace for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Thizzula throwing strikes here but George is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Count Thizzula dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


George lands a slapping body shot.
George moves in looking to clinch but Thizzula pushes him off.
George tries to clinch up but Thizzula circles away and keeps his distance.
A little jabbing left from Thizzula on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Chris George seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thizzula takes the fight into the clinch.
George drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Thizzula ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Thizzula no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thizzula keeping moving, preventing George from controlling successfully.
George will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
George won't allow Thizzula to sweep him here.

George trying to control the position from guard on top but Thizzula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thizzula is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
George preventing the sweep.
George wants to control from the top but Thizzula keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Thizzula throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
George tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Thizzula counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for George!
George wants to get back to his feet but Thizzula is dominant here and he's now got George's back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
George is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
I really don't envy George right now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thizzula is working for a rear naked choke. George is not defending it well and Thizzula has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! George refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of George's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Count Thizzula!
A very excited looking Count Thizzula made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated Chris George had this to say: 'he fought better'.
