Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doko Dokov (ranked 2278 p4p, 293 weight class) and Sydney Thift (ranked 2294 p4p, 298 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sydney Thift!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Francis DeMontford and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thift swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Dokov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Thift closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dokov's guard.
Thift postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Thift does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Thift throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dokov's waist but Dokov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thift off to one side.
Thift has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Thift missing with a left hand there. Dokov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Thift feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
