PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Charles Cooper (ranked 7758 p4p, 645 weight class) and Pedro Scherer (ranked 23544 p4p, 633 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cooper might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to s.mouse - slap my elbow. Pedro Scherer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch but Scherer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cooper closes the distance looking to clinch
and Scherer counters with a head kick.
Scherer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cooper in his tracks.
Cooper moves in looking to clinch but Scherer pushes him off.
Charles Cooper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scherer connects with a high kick.
Scherer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Scherer follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Scherer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Scherer connects with an inside leg kick.
Scherer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Scherer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cooper's calf.
Scherer swats away the attempt to clinch by Cooper.
Cooper throws a leg kick that is checked
and Scherer counters with a good low kick that Cooper was not able to check.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scherer lands with a hook. Cooper tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Scherer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cooper in his tracks.
Scherer is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Cooper tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Scherer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Scherer feints and then cracks Cooper's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cooper down.
Cooper tries to clinch up.
Cooper tries to clinch there but Scherer circles away.
Scherer shapes to counter with a head kick.
Scherer has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Scherer throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cooper's head.
Cooper tries to clinch up.
A decent looking cross lands there for Scherer.
Scherer scores with a hook to the body. Cooper takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cooper moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cooper takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Scherer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cooper has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Scherer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cooper walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Charles Cooper has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Scherer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cooper. That did some damage!
Cooper walks into a perfectly timed head kick by Scherer and drops face first to the floor! Cooper's eyes are wide open but he's not all there - he's just flopping around the mat like a drunk on rollerskates! The referee doesn't even start the count - he's called an end to the fight, with Cooper in no position to continue!
