Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Kuklinsky (ranked 65 p4p, 8 weight class) and Heavy Rain (ranked 40 p4p, 6 weight class). Rain has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Kuklinsky!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kuklinsky moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kuklinsky looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rain swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kuklinsky counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kuklinsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Kuklinsky throws a lazy right hand but Rain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rain misses with a head kick.
Kuklinsky throwing a counter right hand but Rain manages to avoid it.
Rain chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kuklinsky lands a big uppercut and Rain crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rain looks OK. Kuklinsky waves Rain back to his feet!

It looks like Heavy Rain has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kuklinsky is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rain clobbers Kuklinsky with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Kuklinsky counters with a two punch combo.
Kuklinsky throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rain let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Rain is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kuklinsky had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Rain thuds his right hand into Kuklinsky's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Richard Kuklinsky will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kuklinsky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rain manages to avoid it.

Rain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kuklinsky is aware though and is defending well.

Kuklinsky creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Rain with a big uppercut! Rain tries to clinch up but Kuklinsky pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Rain to the mat! Rain covers up and Kuklinsky unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Richard Kuklinsky!
