Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ervin Walker (ranked 24282 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Capela (ranked 4634 p4p, 0 weight class). Capela has chosen Dont waste my time as his entrance music. John Capela has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ervin Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Capela!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Capela looks to score with a jab to the body but Walker is just out of range.
Capela lands a right hook to the body.
Capela moves into range and connects with a jab.
Capela plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Capela shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely.
Capela tries to clinch there but Walker circles away.
Walker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Capela fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walker has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Walker moves into the clinch.
Capela is looking to take this one to the mat.
Walker prevents Capela from breaking the clinch.

Capela tries for a takedown but Walker manages to get underhooks.
Ervin Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Capela.
Walker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Capela is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Walker really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Capela throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Walker.

Capela goes for a double leg but Walker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Walker continues to drive forward.
Capela looks winded!
Capela shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Capela keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
An inside leg kick from Walker misses.
Capela shoots in but no luck this time.
Walker appears to be looking for a big counter.
Walker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Walker has taken the fight to the clinch.

Walker tightens his grip and picks Capela up, before dumping him to the ground. Capela manages to land in guard.

Walker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Walker tries to land a front kick but Capela steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Walker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Capela.
Capela misses with a straight left.
Walker feinted with a counter takedown.
Capela takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Walker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Capela circles away quickly and effectively.
Walker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Capela tries to clinch up.
A low kick from Capela is predictable there

and Walker counters with a single leg into guard. Capela didn't expect that.
Walker's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Walker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Walker drops back looking for a leg! Capela is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Capela manages to kick Walker off! Walker jumps back into Capela's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ervin Walker will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Walker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

As Capela looks to move away, Walker throws a big counter combo but Capela just gets out of the way.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Capela circles away.
Capela steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Walker.

Capela tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
John Capela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Walker counters with a three punch combo that has Capela backing up. Capela nods at Walker to acknowledge the strikes.

Capela will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Capela delivers a nice body kick.
Capela fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Capela lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Capela tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walker swivels and escapes.

Capela takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Capela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Capela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walker throws a low kick but Capela moves out of range easily.

and Walker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Walker has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Capela lands a nice looking body kick.
Capela throws out a loose jab but Walker uses good head movement to avoid it.

Walker rushes Capela and presses him up against the cage.

Capela wants to break free but Walker has control.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walker on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Walker has hold of one of Capela's legs. Capela is fighting the takedown attempt but Walker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
John Capela has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ervin Walker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Capela is striking from the bottom but Walker uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Well Walker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
