The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinales takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Pinales shoots for a takedown but Bessant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bessant jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bessant definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bessant moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Pinales takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Pinales shoots and misses
and Bessant counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bessant tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pinales manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

It looks like Javier Pinales has been cut.

Some bone on bone action there as Pinales checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bessant, as that shot connected.
Bessant lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Bessant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pinales on the ground.
Bessant wants to control but Pinales postures up.
Bessant tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pinales wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Pinales has an Americana. Bessant didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pinales is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pinales hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
