Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Schaub (ranked 1263 p4p, 182 weight class) and Hotaru Doji (ranked 1612 p4p, 221 weight class). Doji has chosen Crane ft. Beauregard & The Down Right - Meet Me In The Garden as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schaub catches Doji with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Hotaru Doji has been cut.
Schaub cracks Doji with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Schaub moves to clinch but Doji breaks away
and Doji counters with a straight right hand.
Doji fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schaub manages to avoid it.

Schaub moves into the clinch.
Doji doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Schaub throws a punch but it's blocked by Doji.
Schaub wants to take the fight to the mat but Doji manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Doji escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Doji scores with a nice strike.
Bryan Schaub seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Schaub clinches with his opponent.
Doji tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Schaub's elbow.
Doji gets through Schaub's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schaub turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Schaub manages to end up in side control.

Doji throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Doji moves forwards but Schaub connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Schaub is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Doji knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Doji doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Schaub doesn't manage to clinch there - Doji circles away.

Doji is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Schaub.
Doji attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Schaub tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Doji manages to circle out of the way.

Schaub ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doji moves away.
Doji has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Schaub connects with a nice looking jab.

Schaub feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Doji sprawling to the canvas! Doji rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Schaub finish him?!

Schaub closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Doji throws a punch but it's blocked by Schaub.
Schaub has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Doji after a bit of a struggle.
Doji seems to have recovered his senses.
Doji is trying to break free.
Schaub can't find room to land a body shot as Doji controls the action.

Schaub has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Doji is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Schaub goes for a takedown attempt but Doji pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Schaub has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Doji avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Schaub looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Schaub is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Doji pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Schaub is trying to drag Doji to the mat but Doji just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Doji breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Schaub tries to bum rush Doji with a series of wild strikes but Doji uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schaub lands a big right hand that sends Doji crashing to the mat! Schaub stays standing though and waves Doji back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bryan Schaub will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Doji loads up on a big right hand but Schaub slips the punch.
Schaub closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Doji out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
