Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toturi Akodo (ranked 933 p4p, 124 weight class) and Mawi Da Oxlade (ranked 1454 p4p, 163 weight class). Akodo comes to the cage accompanied by Skip Marley - Lions. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mawi Da Oxlade was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Da Oxlade.
Akodo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Da Oxlade backs up against the cage.

It looks like Mawi Da Oxlade has been cut.
Akodo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Akodo looks to land a combination but Da Oxlade avoids it well.
Akodo lands a jab to the head.
Akodo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Da Oxlade manages to avoid it.
Akodo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Da Oxlade is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Akodo moves out of range of the body kick from Da Oxlade.
Akodo appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Da Oxlade gets tackled into the cage by Akodo. Akodo maintains the clinch.

Akodo wants to get back to striking at distance but Da Oxlade won't allow it.

Akodo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Akodo misses with a right hand

and Da Oxlade counters with a head kick that drops Akodo to the mat! Akodo scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Akodo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Akodo throws a sloppy body shot
and as Akodo loses concentration momentarily, Da Oxlade counters with a picture perfect head kick! Akodo goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mawi Da Oxlade!
Mawi Da Oxlade bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
