Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mykhail Medvedev (ranked 4713 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Bogdanov (ranked 24744 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Igor Bogdanov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Medvedev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bogdanov sprawls well initially but Medvedev persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Medvedev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bogdanov is looking for a sweep. Medvedev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Medvedev is taking a breather. Bogdanov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Medvedev thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bogdanov tries to roll over but Medvedev keeps him under control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Medvedev wants to advance to full mount but Bogdanov doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Medvedev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bogdanov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bogdanov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Medvedev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bogdanov for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Medvedev stands and steps away. Bogdanov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Medvedev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bogdanov swivels and escapes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Medvedev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bogdanov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Medvedev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bogdanov just stands there and leans against the cage.

Bogdanov tries to score a body lock takedown but Medvedev shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Medvedev blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bogdanov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Medvedev keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bogdanov's efforts to push away.
Bogdanov is trying to force a seperation but Medvedev has the dominant position.

Medvedev breaks from the clinch.

Medvedev gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Medvedev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Medvedev rushes Bogdanov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Medvedev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bogdanov walks into a left hand.

Bogdanov tries to keep at a distance but Medvedev has taken the fight into the clinch.
Medvedev jumps guard but Bogdanov stands there with Medvedev around his waist. Medvedev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Medvedev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bogdanov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Medvedev has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bogdanov uses from the top position.
Bogdanov pushes down on Medvedev's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Look low, kick high! Medvedev uses the oldest trick in the book to send Bogdanov tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Medvedev is absolutely delighted - when Bogdanov wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
