Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dale Holloway (ranked 6987 p4p, 557 weight class) and Tien Shinhan (ranked 22235 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shinhan's choice of entrance music: Skillet - Forsaken. Tien Shinhan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Dale Holloway! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Tien Shinhan!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Holloway shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shinhan as he avoids it easily.
Shinhan is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Shinhan closes the distance and clinches.

Shinhan jumps guard and drags Holloway to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Shinhan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Shinhan looking for subs off his back but Holloway has passed one foot through into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Holloway's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holloway seems to be working for a kimura but Shinhan defends the submission attempt.

Holloway wants to control from the top but Shinhan keeps moving.

Holloway thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shinhan is on top in guard.

Holloway is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Holloway is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shinhan tries to free his leg and advance position but Holloway is retaining full guard.
Holloway wants to sweep here but Shinhan controlling him for the moment.

Holloway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shinhan defends it easily.

Holloway is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Shinhan has his hands clasped together but Holloway extends and breaks Shinhan's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Holloway.
