Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jacob Menard (ranked 5345 p4p, 418 weight class) and vh ff (ranked 4463 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; vh ff!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.

Menard clinches.
ff looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
ff is trying to drag Menard to the mat but Menard just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ff gets back to half guard.
ff regains full guard. Nicely done.
Menard trying to control the position from guard on top but ff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ff working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Menard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Menard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Menard has gone for a leg lock! ff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Menard's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Menard (4) vs (2) ff
ff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Menard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

ff drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and ff jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

ff drops back looking for a leg! Menard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Menard manages to kick ff off! ff jumps back into Menard's guard.
ff tries to free his leg and advance position but Menard is retaining full guard.
ff sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Menard's guard.
ff is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Menard defends it well.
Menard won't allow ff to pass to mount.
