Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Reed (ranked 1581 p4p, 209 weight class) and Wilky Pierre (ranked 2884 p4p, 326 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wilky Pierre!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pierre gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Reed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Reed.

Reed manages to break the clinch.

Pierre tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Reed tries to work over Pierre's front leg with a kick but Pierre checks it.
Pierre slips a jab from Reed.
Reed throws a head kick that misses.
Pierre doesn't manage to clinch there - Reed circles away.
Reed fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pierre.

Reed throws a looping overhand right but Pierre ducks down to avoid it.

Pierre closes the distance looking to clinch
and Reed cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierre throws an overhand right that lands on Reed's shoulder, as Reed tries to avoid the shot.
Reed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wilky Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reed swings wildly with an uppercut but Pierre uses good head movement to avoid it.
Reed is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Pierre has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Reed regains guard immediately.

Pierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pierre is looking for submissions but instead, Reed has regained full guard.

I was talking to Reed's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Reed takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Still in the clinch, Reed scores with a nice short uppercut.

Pierre pulls guard successfully.

Pierre is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reed is aware though and is defending well.

Pierre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pierre looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Reed has picked Pierre up and slammed him! Pierre can't keep hold of the triangle and Reed manages to pass to side control!

and Reed counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pierre thinking.

Reed tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pierre was well out of range. Poor timing from Reed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pierre is looking for a triangle here but Reed uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Reed stands up and beckons Pierre to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Reed. Those never looked like landing.

Pierre rushes Reed and presses him up against the ropes.
Pierre changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reed fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Reed is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pierre rushes Reed and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Reed dominated that second round.
That's time! Reed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Reed swats away the attempt to clinch by Pierre.

Reed lands a big head kick that sends Pierre tumbling to the mat! Reed takes a step backwards and waves Pierre back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Reed scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Pierre is still on wobbly legs! Can Reed finish him?
Reed connects with a solid leg kick.
Reed cracks Pierre with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the ropes! Pierre falls to his knees and Reed doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Reed!
