Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shamus Murphy (ranked 5432 p4p, 452 weight class) and Ilya Stolgichenko (ranked 6772 p4p, 502 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ilya Stolgichenko!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Stolgichenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Murphy digs a good body shot into Stolgichenko's ribs.
Shamus Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stolgichenko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Murphy. That one must have hurt.
Murphy listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Murphy throws a sloppy head kick and Stolgichenko moves out of range easily.
Murphy drops his hands momentarily and Stolgichenko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Murphy lands with an uppercut that bounces Stolgichenko off the cage and back into range.
Stolgichenko throws a body punch but Murphy moves out of range.
Stolgichenko's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stolgichenko's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Stolgichenko walks into a straight right hand from Murphy.
Murphy lands a big head kick that sends Stolgichenko tumbling to the mat! Murphy takes a step backwards and waves Stolgichenko back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Stolgichenko is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stolgichenko takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Stolgichenko is still on wobbly legs! Can Murphy finish him?
Murphy is stalking Stolgichenko. Stolgichenko circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Murphy, and it's lights out! Stolgichenko really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
