Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Columbus (ranked 4597 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Goldberg (ranked 4651 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Columbus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbus misses with a takedown attempt - Goldberg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Goldberg throws out a counter right but Columbus avoids it with no problem.
Columbus looks to land a left hand but Goldberg moved out of range nicely.
Goldberg looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Columbus doesn't manage to clinch there - Goldberg circles away.
Goldberg steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Columbus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goldberg but Goldberg pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Goldberg counters with a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Columbus feints and as Goldberg raises his hands in defense, Columbus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Columbus engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Goldberg is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Columbus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Columbus postures up and lands a big shot to Goldberg's brow.

Goldberg working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Columbus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Columbus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Goldberg is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Columbus is aware though and is defending well.

Columbus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Columbus passes Goldberg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Columbus perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Goldberg looking for submissions off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Goldberg can do anything to dispel that myth.
Columbus is taking a breather. Goldberg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Columbus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Goldberg looking for a kimura from the bottom but Columbus passes into side control!

Columbus decides to stand up, so the ref orders Goldberg to his feet.
Columbus moves in looking to clinch but Goldberg pushes him off.

Columbus drives through with a takedown into Goldberg's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Columbus lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Columbus landing with the ground and pound.
Columbus chips away with some ground and pound.
Columbus's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Columbus seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Goldberg for as long as he can get away with.
Columbus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Goldberg is trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Goldberg is trying to escape the position but Columbus is controlling the position.
Goldberg manages to work his way to half guard, despite Columbus's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Columbus fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Goldberg to the ground. Columbus is now in Goldberg's guard.

Goldberg looking for subs off his back but Columbus has passed one foot through into half guard.

Columbus is pressing down on Goldberg's thigh, looking to free his foot. Goldberg is holding on for now.
Goldberg is breathing heavily.
Columbus seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Goldberg is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Columbus pulls his head out easily.

Columbus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Columbus with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Goldberg has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Columbus escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Columbus!
Goldberg is letting Columbus control him for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Goldberg tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Columbus cracks Goldberg with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Columbus moves into full mount!

Columbus has isolated one of Goldberg's arms. Goldberg looking to fight him off but Columbus twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
