PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roar Horse (ranked 1854 p4p, 71 weight class) and Archie Trew (ranked 2121 p4p, 79 weight class). Trew comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fuck You - Lily Allen kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roar Horse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Archie Trew!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trew throws a body punch but Horse moves out of range.
Trew waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Horse.
Trew fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Horse has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Horse misses with the body kick
and Trew counters with a nice uppercut.

Trew darts in and clinches Horse up against the cage.
Horse throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Trew just misses with a elbow thrown towards Horse's brow.
A right handed body shot lands from Horse.
Trew looks winded!
Horse tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Trew's elbow.
Trew lands a shoulder strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trew tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Horse tries to work over Trew's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Horse lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Trew backwards.
Trew creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Horse's defenses.

Trew breaks from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Horse buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Horse lets loose with a powerful body kick. Trew will feel that in the morning.
Horse looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Trew on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Horse. Horse obviously looking to wear him down.
A swing and a miss from Horse.
Horse misses with a body shot.
A countering left hand to the body from Trew misses.
Horse connects with a body shot.
Trew has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Horse finds it's way round the side to connect with Trew's head.

It looks like Archie Trew has been cut.
Horse scores with a spinning back kick!
Horse keeps Trew at a distance using the push kick.
Trew avoids the head kick by Horse.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Horse.

Horse fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trew, pushing him back against the cage.
Horse lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Trew backwards.
Trew swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horse tries to throw a body punch but Trew avoids it by throwing Horse back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Horse.
Horse lands with a left to the head.
Horse lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Horse scores with a nice short uppercut.
Trew wants to get back to striking at distance but Horse won't allow it.
Horse lands a left hand that snaps the head of Trew backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Horse.
Horse tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Trew's elbow.
Horse misses with a hook to the ribs.

That has opened up Archie Trew's cut even more.
Horse can't find room to land a body shot as Trew controls the action.
Horse throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Horse doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Horse throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Trews head.

The cut above Archie Trew's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Horse tries to throw a body punch but Trew avoids it by throwing Horse back against the cage.

Horse pushes Trew back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Archie Trew's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Archie Trew's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A very excited looking Roar Horse made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
