Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matko Mamic (ranked 3394 p4p, 413 weight class) and John Sullivan (ranked 5530 p4p, 528 weight class). Mamic comes into the arena with kralj diskoteke blaring out of the sound system. Sullivan has chosen The Hand of John L. Sullivan as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mamic pushes Sullivan up against the cage in a clinch.

Mamic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A bone on bone clash there as Sullivan blocks the leg kick.
Mamic throws a jab but it's blocked by Sullivan.
Mamic has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blanc Fitness Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Matko Mamic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mamic uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sullivan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mamic misses with the body kick
and Sullivan counters with a two punch combo.

Mamic clinches with his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sullivan is trying to break the clinch but Mamic has him pressed against the cage.
Sullivan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sullivan is trying to break free.
Mamic throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sullivan blocks it with crossed arms.

Mamic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mamic manages to break the clinch.
Sullivan misses with a jab to the body
and Mamic counters with a straight right hand.
Mamic lands a lovely overhand right.

Mamic clinches up with Sullivan and pushes him back against the cage.

Mamic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No joy there for Sullivan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Mamic wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sullivan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sullivan is looking for the big counter here.
Sullivan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mamic counters with a one-two to the body.
Mamic is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Sullivan avoids a punch combination nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mamic throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sullivan counters with a two punch combo.
Sullivan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Mamic moves into the clinch.
Sullivan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mamic has him pressed against the cage.
Mamic lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Mamic manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matko Mamic dominated that round.
That's time! Mamic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mamic throws the left hand but Sullivan avoids the punch easily.
Mamic throws a hook to the side of Sullivan's head but Sullivan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sullivan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mamic was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Sullivan drops Mamic with a beautiful combination! Mamic stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sullivan is looking for the KO!

Mamic is rocked!

It looks like Matko Mamic has been cut.
Sullivan lands with a big right hook that stumbles Mamic - he's out on his feet here! Sullivan follows up with another monster hook that separates Mamic from consciousness! Mamic falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Sullivan stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
