The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

As Mendes looks to move away, Kakka throws a big counter combo but Mendes just gets out of the way.
Kakka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mendes closes the distance and clinches.

Kakka turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kakka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close round but I would say that Niudu Kakka will probably get the nod.

Mendes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kakka's head backwards.

Mendes has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kakka after a bit of a struggle.
Mendes wants to take the fight to the mat but Kakka manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mendes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kakka gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Niudu Kakka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guilherme Mendes.

Mendes is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kakka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kakka shrugs it off.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Mendes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kakka in his tracks.

Kakka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well Mendes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
