Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rosendo Bass (ranked 22525 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Dapper (ranked 4736 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rosendo Bass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Dapper!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dapper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bass is trying to defend but Dapper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dapper is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Bass is trying to stand back up but Dapper is controlling him

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bass is looking for a sweep. Dapper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dapper lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Dapper looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dapper wants to get back to his feet.
Dapper is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Dapper working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dapper looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Dapper is working for a kimura but Bass is defending it quite comfortably.
Dapper is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Bass is trying to control but can't.
Dapper slows the pace down in half guard.
Dapper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dapper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Dapper seems to be working for a kimura but Bass defends the submission attempt.
Dapper moves nicely into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A lull in the action here.
Dapper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bass keeps working.
Dapper controlling the position.
Dapper scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bass to see if he's OK.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bass is trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Dapper dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Bass enables Dapper to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bass manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bass will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bass controls Dapper momentarily but Dapper frees himself.
Dapper controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dapper has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bass throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Dapper decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bass, up you get!

Dapper stays in close to Bass's body and controls the position.
Dapper preventing the sweep.
Dapper is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Let's hope that Dapper has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dapper won't allow Bass to sweep him here.
Dapper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bass swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dapper wants to stand but Bass has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dapper avoids it really well and circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dapper shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Bass has one foot on Dapper's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Dapper throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Bass has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dapper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dapper connects with a couple of short punches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dapper is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Dapper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dapper throws a lazy right hand but Bass sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dapper closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bass to the mat! Bass manages to get full guard.
Bass can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dapper controls the pace.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dapper's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bass wants to stand but Dapper is controlling the position.

Bass looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dapper passes into side control.
Dapper looks up at the clock and then as Bass takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dapper smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dapper has hold of Bass's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bass tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Dapper cranks the arm and Bass screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bass, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Dan Dapper!
