Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tembo Laibon (ranked 22127 p4p, 531 weight class) and Rian MacFarlane (ranked 2841 p4p, 278 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying MacFarlane's choice of entrance music: The Foggy Dew. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
MacFarlane pushes Laibon up against the ropes in a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Laibon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Laibon is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
MacFarlane gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Laibon regains guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Laibon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

MacFarlane's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
MacFarlane drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says MacFarlane as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Laibon screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with MacFarlane! Nice submission victory there!

In his post fight interview, Rian MacFarlane gave a big smile as he said 'Kill or be killed!'.
In defeat, Tembo Laibon stepped up to the mic, saying 'The comeback is always greater than the setback. He earned this win but this isn't it for me.'. |
