PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Disco Kid (ranked 169 p4p, 21 weight class) and Selfie Lord (ranked 163 p4p, 20 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid throws a lazy right hand but Lord sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kid uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lord has time to react.
Kid swings widly with a right hand
and Lord counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kid thinking.
Lord moves out of range of the strikes.
A little jabbing left from Lord on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kid walks into a left hand.
Kid jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kid shoots in for a double leg but Lord sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kid has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've been informed that Lord has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Lord lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kid with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lord to score with a decent uppercut.
