PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilburn Moran (ranked 24467 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Evans (ranked 4676 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilburn Moran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Evans!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moran takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Evans darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Evans fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Moran looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Moran has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Evans lands with a nice body punch.
Moran avoids a punch combination nicely.
Evans cracks Moran with a right hand to the side of the head.
Evans stalks Moran and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Moran's face. Moran staggers backwards, shaken.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans lands a jab-cross combination.
Evans tries to bum rush Moran with a series of wild strikes but Moran uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Moran throws a big counter combination but Evans scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A left and a right from Evans both land. Nice combination.
Evans misses with a series of wild punches.
Moran tries to counter by clinching up but Evans breaks away and moves out of range.
Moran takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Evans lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Evans lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Evans looks winded!
Moran throws a low kick but Evans avoids it.
Evans comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Moran throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Moran has managed to clinch.
Evans lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Moran or not.
Evans working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Moran tries to pull guard but Evans won't allow it.

Moran breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moran wants to clinch up but Evans keeps it at a distance.

Evans works over Moran's head and body with a nice combination.
A left lands for Evans.
Evans is working the combinations to good effect here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moran tries to clinch there but Evans circles away.
Evans fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Moran moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Evans is trying to break the clinch but Moran is controlling him.
Evans wants to break the clinch but can't.

Moran gets control of Evans's arms and successfully pulls guard. Moran will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Moran has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Evans can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Moran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Evans manages to get himself to full guard.

Moran engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Moran passes Evans's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Moran landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Moran controlling the action here.
Moran has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Moran throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Moran is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Moran works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Moran looking to finish Evans with some ground and pound. This is bad for Evans!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.
Moran wants to control the pace but Evans is squirming around nicely.
Moran scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Moran could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Moran sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Moran is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Evans can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Moran has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Evans's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Evans dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Moran moves in looking to clinch but Evans pushes him off.
Evans is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Moran rather than just go for the knockout.
Evans throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Moran tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Moran takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Evans is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans swings away with a body shot that misses

and Moran holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Evans working hard to break the clinch.
Evans misses with a body punch.
Still in the clinch, Evans scores with a nice short uppercut.

Moran tries to pull guard but Evans forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Moran is trying to pull guard but Evans has him pressed against the cage.

Moran drags the fight down to the ground.

Moran has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Evans should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Moran has tightened it up now! Evans should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Wilburn Moran!
