Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mentor Guruland (ranked 2816 p4p, 352 weight class) and Isaiah Sturridge (ranked 2969 p4p, 373 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guruland throws a punch but it's blocked by Sturridge.

Sturridge has Guruland pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sturridge pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Guruland tumbling to the mat - Sturridge dives into Guruland's guard.

Guruland is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sturridge presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sturridge creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Some bone on bone action there as Sturridge checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sturridge sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sturridge looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Guruland can't hide his disappointment, as Sturridge celebrates the victory.
