Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Richardson (ranked 5766 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Loiseau (ranked 24778 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Richardson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Richardson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Loiseau!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Loiseau throws a front kick that sends Richardson stumbling back into the cage.
Richardson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Loiseau lands a left and a right that send Richardson crashing to the mat, dazed. Loiseau thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Richardson is rocked!

Richardson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oh Richardson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Loiseau jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Richardson walks away with a smile on his face. Loiseau gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick misses from Loiseau.
Richardson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Richardson.
Loiseau shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Richardson as he jumps to the side.
Richardson seems to have got his legs back now.
Loiseau misses with a head kick.

Richardson clinches with his opponent.

Richardson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Richardson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Loiseau defends well.

Loiseau throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Richardson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Loiseau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richardson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Loiseau stuffs the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Loiseau.
Richardson appears to be looking for a big counter.
Tommy Richardson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Loiseau.
Loiseau changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Richardson tries to avoid it but Loiseau manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Richardson to the ground. Richardson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Richardson shoots in for a double leg but Loiseau sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Loiseau scores with a one two! Richardson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Loiseau tries to keep at a distance but Richardson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Richardson jumps guard but Loiseau turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Richardson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Loiseau.

Loiseau gets tackled into the cage by Richardson. Richardson maintains the clinch.

Richardson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Loiseau regains guard.
Loiseau avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Richardson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Loiseau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Richardson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richardson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Loiseau for as long as he can get away with.
Loiseau is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Richardson wanted to stand there but Loiseau had control of the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Richardson closes the distance and clinches up with Loiseau, looking for a takedown. Richardson pushes Loiseau against the cage but Loiseau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Loiseau tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Richardson smiles and moves away.

Loiseau tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Richardson defends well and Loiseau ends up having to push Richardson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Loiseau is trying hard to land a takedown here. Richardson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Richardson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Loiseau uses from the top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Loiseau shoots in looking for a takedown. Richardson tries to sprawl out of it but Loiseau keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Richardson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Loiseau goes for a takedown attempt but Richardson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
