Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Israel Potter (ranked 24923 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben J Hermanns (ranked 4772 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hermanns swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Potter is defended easily by Hermanns.
Hermanns changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Potter gets caught napping as Hermanns dives in and scores a takedown. Potter manages to retain guard.
Hermanns trying to control the position from guard on top but Potter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hermanns slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hermanns is staying tight to Potter's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Hermanns decides to stand back up. Hermanns steps back and let's Potter get back to his feet.
Hermanns decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hermanns pinned against the cage. Hermanns gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hermanns lands a nice looking body shot.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Potter gets caught napping as Hermanns dives in and scores a takedown. Potter manages to retain guard.
Potter scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hermanns feints and as Potter raises his hands in defense, Hermanns changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Potter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Potter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hermanns sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Hermanns gets full guard.
Hermanns is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hermanns is looking to sweep but instead, Potter has passed into half guard.
Hermanns moves into full guard.

Hermanns pulls Potter in close to his closed guard and prevents Potter from doing any damage or advancing position.
Ben J Hermanns has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hermanns looking to control but Potter passes into half guard.
Hermanns manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Potter keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Potter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hermanns is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Potter to the mat. Potter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hermanns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Potter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hermanns is looking to work some ground and pound but Potter has wrist control.
Hermanns controlling from the top position.
Hermanns is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Hermanns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hermanns looking to sit in guard and control but Potter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hermanns controlling the position.
Potter won't allow Hermanns to get back to his feet.
Hermanns manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Potter manages to get himself to full guard.
Hermanns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Hermanns closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Potter quickly recovers to half guard.
Hermanns is working for a submission of some sort.
Hermanns not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hermanns uses his free foot to push down on Potter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Potter.
Hermanns gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Hermanns fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Potter to the ground. Hermanns is now in Potter's guard.

Hermanns has gone for a leg lock! Potter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hermanns's guard.
Hermanns has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Potter is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Hermanns throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Potter blocks it with crossed arms.

Hermanns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Potter dodges the punch combination from Hermanns.
Hermanns takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hermanns swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Potter counters with a series of strikes. Hermanns will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hermanns is standing up over Potter. Potter looks to escape but Hermanns dives into side control.
Potter tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Hermanns has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
