Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chip Nickel (ranked 3581 p4p, 378 weight class) and Marcus Hagler (ranked 4189 p4p, 428 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Hagler throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nickel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nickel throws a head kick but Hagler moves out of range.
Nickel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hagler.
Nickel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hagler looks to throw the jab but Nickel is out of range.
As Hagler looks to move away, Nickel throws a big counter combo but Hagler just gets out of the way.

Nickel drops Hagler with a beautiful combination! Hagler stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nickel is looking for the KO!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hagler tries to clinch but Nickel is having none of it.
Hagler tries a head kick but it misses.
Hagler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nickel doesn't seem bothered though.
Hagler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hagler there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nickel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hagler throws a combination that misses
and Hagler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nickel circles away from the clinch attempt
and Nickel counters with a leg kick.
Marcus Hagler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hagler cracks Nickel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nickel throws a jab when Hagler was well out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nickel has Hagler pressed against the cage, preventing Hagler from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nickel lands a body punch.
Nickel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Come on Nickel - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Nickel works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Nickel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hagler tries to clinch but Nickel is having none of it.
Nickel swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hagler swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nickel counters with a nice uppercut.
Hagler takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nickel darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Hagler's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Nickel before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
