The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nickelson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Simeonov tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Nickelson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sloppy strikes from Simeonov. Those never looked like landing.

Nickelson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Simeonov is trying to defend but Nickelson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
