The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooks scores with a jab to the head.
Hodges shoots in for a takedown but Hooks shows good takedown defense.
Hodges throws a head kick but Hooks moves out of range.
Hooks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hooks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hooks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Hooks gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hooks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hodges throws a big shot that misses.
Hooks throws a head kick but Hodges moves out of range.
Hodges half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hodges is looking to score with low kicks.
Hodges has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hooks.
Hooks feints a jab promting Hodges to slip. Hooks then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hodges slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hooks throws out a loose jab but Hodges uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hooks lands a head shot.
Hodges throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hooks.
Hodges avoids the body shot from Hooks.
Hodges drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hooks sprawls and moves away.
No joy there for Hodges, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hodges shoots in for a double leg but Hooks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hooks avoids a kick to the body.
Donk. Hooks catches Hodges right on the button with a cross.
Hooks fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hodges shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hooks pinned against the cage. Hooks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdur Rahman Hodges. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hodges misses with a wild body shot.
Hodges takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Hooks drives through and clinches with Hodges against the cage.
Hooks pushes off an throws an elbow but Hodges leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hodges drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hooks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hooks throws a hook to the side of Hodges's head but Hodges sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hooks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hodges sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hodges closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hodges lands in his opponent's guard.
Hodges missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hodges has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooks tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hodges drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Hodges as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Hooks screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Hodges! Nice submission victory there!
