The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owens drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bones has his feet on Owens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Owens closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bones decides to pull guard.

Bones is looking for a triangle but Owens pushes his legs off easily.

Owens is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Owens postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bones wants to sweep but no luck.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Owens postures up.
Owens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Owens is working Bones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Owens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bones, up you get!
Bones looks to land a left hand but Owens moved out of range nicely.
Owens misses with a leg kick.

Owens closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bones's guard.
Owens's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Owens stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jooon Bones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Owens uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bones.
Bones throws a head kick that misses.
Owens avoids the body shot from Bones.
Owens avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bones throws a quick inside leg kick.

Owens shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Owens was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Owens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Owens decides to stand back up. Owens steps back and let's Bones get back to his feet.

Owens plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Owens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Owens shoots in and bounces Bones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Owens works over Bones with some ground and pound from guard.

Owens gets to his feet - Bones follows without any prompting.
Bones thuds a left hand into Owens's body.

Owens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Owens has an Americana. Bones didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Owens is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Owens hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
