Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Augusto (ranked 24100 p4p, 580 weight class) and Utu Mutu (ranked 2892 p4p, 320 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mutu lands a nice looking body shot.

Mutu has Augusto pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mutu pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Augusto tumbling to the mat - Mutu dives into Augusto's guard.

Despite the aggression on Mutu's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Mutu has hold of one of Augusto's legs. Augusto is fighting the takedown attempt but Mutu gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Mutu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Augusto napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Augusto sneaks out the side door and pushes Mutu away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mutu lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Augusto lands a nice hook to Mutu's body. Mutu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Mutu throws a series of punches but Augusto moves out of range.

Mutu closes the distance and clinches.

Mutu has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Augusto clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Mutu is breathing heavily.
Mutu lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Mutu.
Rodrigo Augusto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Augusto is trying to stand back up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Can Augusto hold on?! Mutu is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

It looked like Augusto was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Mutu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Augusto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mutu has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Augusto regains guard immediately.

Augusto is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mutu presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
