The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Morissette both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Abusupyan Khalilov has been cut.
Khalilov dives in and scores a takedown into Morissette's guard.
Morissette wants to stand and escape but Khalilov is having none of it.
Khalilov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Morissette is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Khalilov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Morissette manages to break the clinch.

Khalilov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Morissette swivels and escapes.
A nice combination there by Morissette.
Morissette throws a right hand that Khalilov ducks under and follows up with a left that Khalilov also avoids with ease.
No joy there for Morissette, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Khalilov drives through with a takedown into guard.
Morissette is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Morissette wants to stand but Khalilov is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khalilov is working Morissette over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Morissette is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Khalilov is controlling him.

Morissette has momentary wrist control but Khalilov slips an elbow through the middle.

Morissette is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Morissette pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Morissette misses with the combination.
Nice sprawl there from Morissette as Khalilov shoots in.
Morissette misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Morissette misses with a wild combination.
Morissette lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khalilov circles away quickly and effectively.
Khalilov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Morissette is rocked!
Morissette looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khalilov loads up on a big left hand. Morissette felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Khalilov looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Morissette can't hide his disappointment, as Khalilov celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abusupyan Khalilov!
