Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Busk (ranked 674 p4p, 84 weight class) and Craig Wius (ranked 1513 p4p, 186 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kieran Busk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig Wius!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Busk misses.
Busk just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wius. Busk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wius sizes up Busk with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Busk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wius changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Busk misses with a looping right.
Wius on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wius scores with a hook.
Busk misses with an uppercut.
Busk misses with a wild body shot.
Wius throws out a powerful jab.

Wius connects with a nice looking jab.
Wius looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Busk rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wius counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Busk throws out a loose jab but Wius uses good head movement to avoid it.
Busk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Busk ducks right into an uppercut from Wius.
Busk loads up on a big right hand but Wius slips the punch.
Busk misses with an uppercut.
Busk clobbers Wius with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Wius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Busk's guard.
Wius passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Busk pushes Wius away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wius gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Busk is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wius asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Wius wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Busk, who protects the arm well.

Wius remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Busk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Busk tries to get out of the position.

Wius cracks Busk with a big right hand but Busk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Busk is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wius has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Busk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wius on the ground.

Busk seems a little lost for a moment, as Wius dominates the positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wius throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Busk on the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wius connects with a nice short shot to Busk's temple.
Wius prevents Busk from standing back up.
Wius is thwarting Busk's attempts to control the position.
Busk has hold of Wius's hands but Wius slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Wius is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Busk is just riding it out for now. Wius eventually gives up the hold.

Wius working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Busk is looking for a sweep. Wius is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wius works his foot free and advances to mount.
Wius lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Busk is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wius tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Busk is in a horrible position here. Wius smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Busk is looking to improve his position but Wius isn't that keen on the idea.

Busk wants to try and get back to his feet.
Wius connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wius fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wius loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Busk scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Wius land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Wius stands and salutes the crowd.
