Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ruslav Megamedov (ranked 7001 p4p, 516 weight class) and Ronaldo Gomes (ranked 5327 p4p, 458 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronaldo Gomes!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gomes wants it to stay on the feet.

Megamedov tries to sprawl but Gomes drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Megamedov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Megamedov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gomes is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Megamedov wants to hold on but Gomes pushes him away.

What can Megamedov do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

I really don't envy Megamedov right now.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Gomes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Megamedov is looking to escape.

I really don't envy Megamedov right now.

Megamedov is having to fend off submission attempts from Gomes, who is looking to sink in the choke. Gomes doesn't have the hooks in though and Megamedov manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

Gomes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Megamedov defends well.

Gomes is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Megamedov rolls with it to try and escape but Gomes cranks on the arm and Megamedov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
