Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Al Haddad (ranked 24412 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Dettman (ranked 24486 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mohammed Al Haddad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Dettman!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Haddad is looking to clinch but Dettman is avoiding it.
Al Haddad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dettman tries to avoid it but Al Haddad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dettman to the ground. Dettman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dettman looks to land a combination but Al Haddad avoids it well.
Al Haddad fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Dettman tries to sprawl but Al Haddad drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dettman manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Al Haddad keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Dettman gets underhooks to prevent Al Haddad's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohammed Al Haddad. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dettman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dettman throws a series of punches but Al Haddad avoids them all with ease.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dettman moves into range and connects with a jab.

Al Haddad fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dettman to the ground. Al Haddad is now in Dettman's guard.

Al Haddad drops back looking for a leg! Dettman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dettman manages to kick Al Haddad off! Al Haddad jumps back into Dettman's guard.
Dettman has a closed guard, preventing Al Haddad from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dettman pushes Al Haddad off and gets back to his feet.

Al Haddad shoots in looking for a takedown but Dettman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Al Haddad's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Al Haddad is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dettman.

Al Haddad throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dettman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Al Haddad is in Dettman's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Haddad is breathing heavily.
Al Haddad prevents Dettman from getting back to his feet.

Al Haddad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Al Haddad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dettman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Al Haddad is controlling him.
Al Haddad has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dettman is proving hard to escape from.
Al Haddad advances to half guard.

Al Haddad is trying to work for a kimura but Dettman is defending well.

Al Haddad is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dettman is just riding it out for now. Al Haddad eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dettman manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dettman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Al Haddad gets a double leg takedown into Dettman's guard.

Al Haddad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Al Haddad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Al Haddad thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dettman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Al Haddad tries to stand but Dettman is controlling from the bottom.
Dettman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Al Haddad is controlling him.
Al Haddad passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Al Haddad is working for a submission of some sort.
Dettman pushes Al Haddad off looking to stand but Al Haddad dives back in and keeps control.

Al Haddad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dettman sees it coming and defends easily.

Dettman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Al Haddad is on him like a limpet, forcing Dettman back against the cage.
Al Haddad jumps guard but Dettman stands there with Al Haddad around his waist. Al Haddad gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Al Haddad is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dettman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Dettman managing to block the knees to the body from Al Haddad.

Dettman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dettman scores with a decent looking hook.
Dettman throws a series of punches but Al Haddad moves out of range.
Al Haddad moves away from the strike by Dettman.
Al Haddad showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dettman.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dettman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Al Haddad.
Al Haddad uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dettman.
Dettman connects with a single shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dettman tries to bum rush Al Haddad with a series of wild strikes but Al Haddad uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dettman misses with the combination.
Al Haddad fails with a takedown attempt.
Dettman throws a nice looking combination but Al Haddad bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dettman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Al Haddad lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dettman circles away quickly and effectively.
Al Haddad misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dettman gets caught napping as Al Haddad dives in and scores a takedown. Dettman manages to retain guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Al Haddad wants to stand but Dettman has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Dettman dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dettman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dettman is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Al Haddad drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Al Haddad as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Dettman screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Al Haddad! Nice submission victory there!
