The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lermontov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Salvatore counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Fiyero Lermontov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salvatore misses the body punch
and Lermontov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Lermontov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Salvatore is out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looked like Lermontov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Lermontov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Salvatore throws a big shot that misses.
Salvatore bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Salvatore throws a head kick but Lermontov moves out of range.
Lermontov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Salvatore closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lermontov quickly recovers to half guard.

Salvatore is looking to pass Lermontov's guard but actually Lermontov recovers to full guard.
Salvatore trying to control the position from guard on top but Lermontov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Salvatore drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lermontov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Salvatore has Lermontov in his guard.

Lermontov is looking to stand up but Salvatore won't let him.

Salvatore is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lermontov has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Salvatore to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lermontov is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Salvatore pulls down on the head and he's put Lermontov to sleep! This one is all over!
