Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinteros misses with the combination.
Van appears to be looking for a big counter.
Van shoots in but no luck this time.
Quinteros misses with a looping right.
Van changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Van tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Quinteros paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A nice side step and Quinteros releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Van fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Quinteros throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Van tries to counter by clinching up but Quinteros breaks away and moves out of range.
Quinteros throws a right and a left that Van avoids nicely.
Quinteros takes one to the chin there.
Horrible takedown attempt by Van or perhaps it was just good defense by Quinteros, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Candy Van. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quinteros throws a jab but it's blocked by Van.
Quinteros throws a right and a left that Van avoids nicely.
Quinteros lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Van circles away quickly and effectively.
Van tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Quinteros manages to circle out of the way.
Van darts in looking for a takedown but Quinteros gets double underhooks and turns Van into the cage.
Van definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Quinteros on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Quinteros scores with a hook to the body. Van takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Quinteros misses with a double jab.
Quinteros lands with a nice body punch.
Van darts in and clinches Quinteros up against the cage.
Quinteros breaks from the clinch.
Van closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Quinteros did well to prevent Van getting side control.
Quinteros keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Quinteros is refusing to be controlled, as Van sits in half guard.
Quinteros is trying to get back to full guard.

Van decides to return to a standing position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Quinteros stuns Van with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Quinteros lands a jab-cross combination.
Quinteros throws a right hand that Van ducks under and follows up with a left that Van also avoids with ease.
The fighters circling - Quinteros throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Quinteros scores with a shot to the side of Van's head.

Van gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Quinteros counters with a right hand to the body.
Quinteros scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Quinteros throws a body shot but no joy.
Van is looking to clinch but Quinteros is avoiding it.
Quinteros displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Van.
Van takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Quinteros fails to land with a series of punches.
Quinteros swats away the attempt to clinch by Van.
Van shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quinteros but Quinteros pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Van displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quinteros throws out the jab.
Quinteros lands a big uppercut and Van crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Van looks OK. Quinteros waves Van back to his feet!
Van is rocked!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Quinteros stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Quinteros wants it to stay on the feet.
Oh Van is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nelson Quinteros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Van tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Quinteros is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Van buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Van!! Van is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Quinteros throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nelson Quinteros!
An out of breath Nelson Quinteros thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
