Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucio Francisco Carmo (ranked 1993 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiro Kirov (ranked 2600 p4p, 0 weight class). Carmo comes to the cage accompanied by Rolling Stones - Paint it, Black. Lucio Francisco Carmo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kiro Kirov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucio Francisco Carmo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiro Kirov!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirov shoots in for a takedown but Carmo shows good takedown defense.

Kirov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carmo's guard.
Kirov trying to control but Carmo is working from the bottom.
Carmo managing to control the position.
Carmo being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carmo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kirov is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kirov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kirov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carmo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kirov has managed to get both his arms back between Carmo's legs - danger averted.
Kirov trying to control the position from guard on top but Carmo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carmo has his hands on Kirov's head, controlling the position.

Carmo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kirov defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kirov throws a strike but Carmo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kirov pulls Carmo in close to his closed guard and prevents Carmo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Carmo pushes down on Kirov's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Kirov looking for subs from the bottom but Carmo mounts him!
Kirov tries to hold on but Carmo pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carmo controlling from the full mount.
Kirov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kirov is trying to escape the mount.
Kirov wants to control but Carmo is having none of it.
Carmo controlling the position easily from mount.
Kirov can't escape the position.
Carmo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kirov holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Carmo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kirov is looking to improve his position but Carmo isn't that keen on the idea.
Carmo controlling from mount.
Carmo avoids the attempt from Kirov to control.
Kirov is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Carmo is staying active.
Carmo controlling his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kirov tries to hold on but Carmo postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucio Francisco Carmo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Carmo leaves Kirov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kirov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carmo avoids it really well and circles away.
Carmo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kirov sprawls and moves away.
Kirov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carmo as he avoids it easily.
Lucio Francisco Carmo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kiro Kirov.
Kirov fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Carmo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kirov can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carmo connects with a body shot.

Carmo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Carmo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Carmo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Carmo stands and throws Kirov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kirov tries to improve position but can't.

Carmo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Carmo in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Kirov is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lucio Francisco Carmo!
A relieved looking Lucio Francisco Carmo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
