PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Will Norris (ranked 1826 p4p, 106 weight class) and Henry The Crab (ranked 1705 p4p, 103 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Henry The Crab!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Crab shoots in for a takedown but Norris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The Crab fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Norris was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The Crab on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

The Crab fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Norris sprawls well initially but The Crab persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The Crab is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The Crab thows a huge punch but Norris dodges it nicely.

The Crab is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Norris tries to kick The Crab off but The Crab keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Crab seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Norris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Norris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The Crab is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Norris gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Will Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry The Crab.

Norris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Henry The Crab seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Crab swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Norris counters with a left and a right that stings The Crab.

letting Norris counter with a right hand.
Norris bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of The Crab's head.

Oooooh!!! Norris has knocked The Crab down with a huge combo! Norris steps away and waves a wobbly The Crab back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The Crab is still on wobbly legs! Can Norris finish him?
The Crab connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The Crab seems to have recovered his senses.

No luck with that takedown attempt from The Crab.
It looked like Norris wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The Crab wants to lay and pray for a moment but Norris keeps working.

The Crab looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Norris is fending him off so far but The Crab persists. Nope, Norris circles away and we're back to standing.

The Crab shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Norris pinned against the cage. Norris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The Crab ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The Crab changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Norris tries to avoid it but The Crab manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Norris to the ground. Norris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The Crab had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Norris defends it easily.
Norris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Crab can do to turn this around?
Norris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The Crab has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Norris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Will Norris decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
