Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Deeds (ranked 3566 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dudley Davies (ranked 3486 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dudley Davies was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Davies shoots for a takedown but Deeds saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Deeds could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Deeds closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davies circles away.
Davies shoots in for a double leg but Deeds sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Davies goes for a double leg but Deeds avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Deeds continues to drive forward.
John Deeds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dudley Davies.

Davies closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Deeds quickly recovers to half guard.

Davies is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davies connects with a nice short shot to Deeds's temple.
