Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Hotty (ranked 4570 p4p, 45 weight class) and Charlie Foster (ranked 6537 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hotty as he jumps to the side.
Foster throws a head kick that misses.
Foster dives in for a single leg takedown but Hotty sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hotty was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hotty throws a body punch but Foster moves out of range.
Foster tries to counter by closing the distance.
Hotty checks the leg kick nicely there.
Foster takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Foster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hotty defends it nicely.
Scotty Hotty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Foster.
No luck for Foster with that takedown attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Hotty on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Hotty misses the jab.
Nice uppercut there from Hotty.
Hotty thuds a left hand into Foster's body.
Nice uppercut lands for Hotty. That snapped Foster's head back.
Foster ducks under a wild hook from Hotty.
Hotty throws a lazy right hand but Foster sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Foster has eaten all the pies!
Foster has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Foster there as he acknowledges the shot.
Foster moves out of range of the strikes.
Foster drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hotty defends it well.
Foster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hotty as he jumps to the side.
Foster walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Foster moves out of range of the strikes.
Foster fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hotty avoids it really well and circles away.
Hotty swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Foster tries to clinch up.
Hotty circles away from the clinch attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Hotty misses the target.
Foster looks to land a right hand but Hotty moved out of range.

Foster fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hotty sprawls well initially but Foster persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hotty is looking to get back to is feet but Foster passes into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hotty tries to buck Foster off but Foster is having none of it.

Foster working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Foster looks winded!
Hotty is pushing Foster's head away, looking to escape. Foster manages to hold on to the position though.
Hotty wants to control but Foster postures up.
Hotty tries to bench press Foster off him but Foster keeps the position.
Foster is looking to take a break and control but Hotty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hotty is trying to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hotty takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hotty tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Foster presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Foster takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hotty can't escape the position.
Hotty looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hotty misses with a hook. Foster ducked under it nicely.
Foster throws a counter combo.
Foster takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Foster dives in for a single leg takedown but Hotty sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hotty is looking to counter punch.
Hotty's corner calls for a 1-2. Hotty obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hotty throws a lazy uppercut

and Foster counters by moving into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hotty wants to stall.

Foster is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hotty to keep the fight standing.

Foster escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Foster defending well as Hotty loads up on a big left hand.
Foster drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hotty defends it well.
Hotty is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Foster.
A big left from Hotty misses.
Hotty is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Foster looking to score a takedown here. Hotty is defending well but Foster drives through and ends up in Hotty's guard.

Foster drops back looking for a leg! Hotty is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hotty manages to kick Foster off! Foster jumps back into Hotty's guard.
Foster is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hotty wants to stand up but Foster is controlling him.
Hotty on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hotty tries to get out of the position.
Foster seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Foster makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hotty is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Foster wants to control from the top but Hotty keeps moving.
Hotty wants to improve his position but instead Foster has moved into half guard.

Hotty is looking for a sweep. Foster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hotty has a hand on Foster's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Foster takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Foster has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hotty's face.
Foster manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hotty to take his back!
Hotty trying to control the hands but Foster breaks the grip.
Will Foster go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Foster has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hotty! Can he survive? No! He's out! Foster gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
