Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Laret (ranked 6445 p4p, 513 weight class) and Dwane Carlos (ranked 6609 p4p, 519 weight class). Tim Laret has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Laret !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dwane Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laret misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laret pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carlos back to the cage. Laret follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nice uppercut lands for Laret . That snapped Carlos's head back.
Laret looks to land a combination but Carlos avoids it well.
Laret misses with a jab, cross combination.
Laret tries to clinch up but Carlos circles away and keeps his distance.
Carlos misses with a takedown
and Laret counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Carlos takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Laret is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carlos pulls Laret in close to his closed guard and prevents Laret from doing any damage or advancing position.

Laret throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Laret will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Carlos seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Carlos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Laret manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carlos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Carlos shoots in looking for a takedown but Laret manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Laret lands with a nice combination. Carlos backs away looking to recover.

Laret looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Carlos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Laret manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Laret tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Carlos's elbow.

Carlos jumps guard and drags Laret to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Laret is fighting to break Carlos's control of his arms but Carlos is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Laret avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Laret wants to get up but he can't break Carlos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Carlos comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Carlos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Laret manages to get himself to full guard.


Carlos has gone for a leg lock! Laret slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carlos's guard.


Laret throws a sloppy strike and Carlos has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Laret is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Carlos!
