PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Moore (ranked 696 p4p, 105 weight class) and Buster McDiggle (ranked 1368 p4p, 198 weight class). Moore comes to the cage accompanied by Sad Man's Tongue by Volbeat. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Buster McDiggle enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buster McDiggle!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDiggle looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Moore has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Some wild striking there from Moore.
McDiggle looks like he wants to counter punch here.
McDiggle uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moore.
McDiggle throws a jab but it's blocked by Moore.
Moore drops down looking for a counter takedown but McDiggle sprawls and moves away.
The crowd cheers as Moore lands an impressive looking overhand right. McDiggle doesn't seem phased though.
McDiggle slips under a jab from Moore.
A countering left hand to the body from McDiggle misses.
McDiggle has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Moore lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Moore scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McDiggle doesn't seem bothered though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDiggle moves out of range of the leg kick from Moore.
McDiggle doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
McDiggle misses the shot to the body.
McDiggle checks a leg kick nicely.
Moore misses with a combination
and McDiggle counters with a good low kick that Moore was not able to check.

Moore tried to score with a low kick but McDiggle checks it.
Moore throws a hook but McDiggle avoids it easily.
Moore misses with a right hand
and McDiggle counters with a nice uppercut.
Moore connects with an inside leg kick.
Moore misses with a looping right.
And McDiggle responds with a good body kick, but Moore manages to step out the way in time.
Moore loads up on a big right hand but McDiggle slips the punch.
Moore throws a looping overhand right but McDiggle ducks down to avoid it.
Moore works the jab nicely.

McDiggle moves into range and clinches up with Moore.

Moore's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McDiggle is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moore takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Carl Moore has been cut.
McDiggle throws a sloppy head kick and Moore moves out of range easily.
McDiggle throws a hook but Moore avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moore bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McDiggle's head backwards.
Moore uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Moore loads up on a big right hand but McDiggle slips the punch.
Moore throws a jab but it's blocked by McDiggle.

Moore feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McDiggle looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McDiggle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Moore defends it easily.
Moore works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moore not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Moore is looking to take a break and control but McDiggle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McDiggle is trying to get back to full guard.
McDiggle won't allow Moore to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moore is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McDiggle slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Moore lands strikes from half guard.
Moore moves into full mount! McDiggle won't be happy about that!
McDiggle taking shots to the head.

Moore in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Moore has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McDiggle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Moore landing punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moore lands a big shot there that rocks McDiggle but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
McDiggle taking shots to the head.

Moore with a couple of short strikes.
Moore cracks McDiggle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Moore lands a heavy elbow.


McDiggle is rocked!
McDiggle wants to hold on but Moore pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Moore cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McDiggle is still in real trouble! Can Moore finish him?
Moore lands a heavy shot. That's hurt McDiggle! Moore sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless McDiggle and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Carl Moore!
After winning the bout, Carl Moore thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
