Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Beltran (ranked 1965 p4p, 0 weight class) and Castor Rollins (ranked 2668 p4p, 0 weight class). Rollins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ulfheonar kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 32 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Castor Rollins!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beltran looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rollins is trying to maintain the position but Beltran is very close to passing his half guard.
Rollins holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Rollins is looking for a sweep. Beltran is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beltran gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Rollins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rollins wants it to stay on the feet.

Beltran shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rollins counters with a nice leg kick.
Beltran throws a head kick but Rollins moves out of range.

Let's hope that Rollins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rollins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rollins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Beltran will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Rollins throws an elbow that misses. Beltran uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rollins's guard. Nice move by Beltran!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rollins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Beltran tries to free his leg and advance position but Rollins is retaining full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rollins is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Beltran dives in for a single leg takedown but Rollins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Beltran shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Beltran was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rollins thumps Beltran with a low kick.
Beltran throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Beltran gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rollins.
Beltran has his takedown stuffed
and Rollins counters with a right hand to the body.
Rollins blocks a jab.
Rollins moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Beltran throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Beltran doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rollins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rollins misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rollins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Beltran takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rollins misses with a series of wild punches.
Beltran fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rollins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Rollins holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Beltran closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rollins circles away.
Despite the aggression on Rollins's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Beltran shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rollins as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Beltran throws a head kick but Rollins moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rollins darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Beltran swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Rollins counters with a three punch combo that has Beltran backing up. Beltran nods at Rollins to acknowledge the strikes.
Rollins leaves Beltran with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Beltran tries for a takedown but Rollins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rollins misses with the combination.
Beltran half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Rollins lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Beltran takes the fight into the clinch.
Rollins prevents a takedown attempt there.
Beltran swings wildly with an uppercut but Rollins uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rollins has clasped his hands together around Beltran's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Beltran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Castor Rollins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Beltran has closed the distance and engaged Rollins in a clinch.

I think Rollins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
