The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slaughter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and De Struicao counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
De Struicao thuds his shin into the meat of Slaughter's side.
De Struicao throws a nice inside leg kick.
Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Struicao swats him away and circles back towards the center.
De Struicao lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
De Struicao lands a head kick. Slaughter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Max Slaughter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slaughter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling De Struicao to score with a decent uppercut.

De Struicao jabs Slaughter right on the nose. Slaughter blinks but takes it well.
Slaughter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Slaughter shoots in for a takedown but De Struicao shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

De Struicao connects with a right that clearly hurt Slaughter. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as De Struicao proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Slaughter collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Dominick De Struicao decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
