Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guillermo Pato (ranked 270 p4p, 44 weight class) and Sheikh Amun Ghosh (ranked 121 p4p, 17 weight class). Ghosh has chosen Allah Gets Funky as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sheikh Amun Ghosh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Guillermo Pato's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ghosh lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pato has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pato and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Ghosh counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pato's knee momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ghosh bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pato's head.
Pato throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ghosh counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pato won't be happy with that.
My spies in The Wild Beasts Zoo inform me that Ghosh has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Ghosh is trying to get an arm triangle but Pato is defending well.

Ghosh is trying to pull guard but Pato turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ghosh has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ghosh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ghosh wants to control but Pato is keeping him busy.

Ghosh has hold of Pato's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Pato tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ghosh cranks the arm and Pato screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Pato, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
