Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Bud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leon Pablo Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bud defends well and Sanchez ends up having to push Bud into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bud has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA New York in the buildup to the fight.

Bud went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Sanchez works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Sanchez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bud to keep the fight standing.
Sanchez trying to control the position but instead, Bud has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sanchez into the cage.
Sanchez can't find room to land a body shot as Bud controls the action.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bud really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
