Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Batts (ranked 1783 p4p, 222 weight class) and Sharven Sheven (ranked 1947 p4p, 240 weight class). Batts comes to the cage accompanied by Midnight City - By: M83. Sharven Sheven has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Batts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sharven Sheven!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batts throws a right hand that misses
and Sheven counters with a nice uppercut.
Batts throws a shot from downtown. Sheven moves away and avoids it.
Sheven is looking for the big counter here.
Peter Batts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batts connects with a right hand. Sheven shakes it off.
Nice shot lands for Batts.
A big left from Batts misses.
Sheven was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Batts shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sheven eats them both and turns towards Batts to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Sheven counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Peter Batts has been cut.
Sheven staying out of range there.
Sheven appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Batts seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
An inside leg kick lands from Batts.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Batts throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That kick from Batts tenderised Sheven's leg. Sheven is trying to keep his angry face on.
Batts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sheven slips a straight right by Batts.
Sheven takes a jab right on the kisser.
Batts looks to land a right hand but Sheven moved out of range.
Sheven was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Batts throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sheven counters with a series of strikes. Batts will be more careful next time no doubt.
Batts jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sheven tries a quick counter leg kick but Batts is wise to it.
Batts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sheven circles away quickly and effectively.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sheven! But no joy.
Batts thumps Sheven with a low kick.
Sheven uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Batts.
Despite the aggression on Sheven's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

A looping hook to the body misses from Batts. Sheven does a little dance to reset his feet.

Batts is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Sheven's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

As Batts backs off Sheven throws a huge counter combo but Batts manages to avoid it all.

Despite the aggression on Sheven's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Batts throws out a loose jab but Sheven uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Sheven counters with a big uppercut that knocks Batts off his feet! Sheven dives into side control looking to finish!


Batts is rocked!
Batts regains half guard.
Oh Batts is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Batts will probably get the nod.

Sheven works to advance to full mount. Batts defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Batts tries to lock up and control but Sheven gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Sharven Sheven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Sheven counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Batts down! Sheven is looking to finish but Batts is intelligently defending himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Batts is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sheven lands a couple of digs.

Batts has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sheven is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Batts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sheven wants to get up but he can't break Batts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sharven Sheven comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sheven has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
