Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Smith (ranked 6412 p4p, 0 weight class) and Machine Gun (ranked 4887 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gun wants to counter with a clinch but Smith pushes him away.
Gun throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smith thinks about countering with a body kick.

Smith lands a nice shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gun wants to counter the offense by Smith and move into the clinch position.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gun crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Smith - the referee stops the clock and Gun gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Smith. Gun manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Gun looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Smith fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gun looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gun uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.

It seemed like Gun was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gun! But no joy.

It looks like Tim Smith has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gun is looking to stand up but Smith won't let him.
Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gun stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Gun might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Gun scores with a counter punch that sends Smith to the canvas! Gun smells blood - he's punishing Smith with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Smith has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

A less than humble Machine Gun misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Tim Smith had this to say: 'The Ref is an idiot and should never work another match'.
