Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeffery Owen (ranked 4855 p4p, 391 weight class) and Emeritus Forge (ranked 13401 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem Till i collapse. Forge has chosen Cirice as his entrance music. The key to victory for Jeffery Owen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeffery Owen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Emeritus Forge!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forge shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Owen defends it nicely.
Forge looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Forge.
Owen seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jeffery Owen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emeritus Forge.
Forge lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Forge fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Owen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Forge tries to score a power double leg takedown but Owen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Forge somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forge shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Owen counters with a nice uppercut.
Owen wants to clinch up but Forge keeps it at a distance.

Forge changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Owen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Owen is looking to reverse the position.

Forge goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Owen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Forge but great work by Owen.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Forge can do anything to dispel that myth.
Owen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Forge tries to improve position but can't.
Forge gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Forge tries to lock up and control but Owen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Forge shoots in and bounces Owen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Forge has gone for a leg lock! Owen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Forge's guard.

Forge looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Owen passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Owen in particular looking to stall.
Forge tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Owen has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Owen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Forge wants to hold on but Owen pushes him away.

Forge's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Forge is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jeffery Owen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Owen trying to control but Forge is having none of it.

Owen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Forge is looking to escape.

Forge goes for a double leg but Owen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Owen continues to drive forward.
Owen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Owen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Forge tries to avoid it but Owen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Forge to the ground. Forge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Forge doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Owen counters with a series of strikes. Forge will be more careful next time no doubt.

Forge is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Jeffery Owen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Owen tries to land a front kick but Forge steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Forge shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Owen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Forge is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Owen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And Forge tries to counter it with a takedown but Owen pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Forge dives in and grabs Owen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Owen pushes down on Forge's head and hops out.
Owen throws a counter high kick but Forge was just alert enough to avoid it.
Forge dives in for a single leg takedown but Owen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Forge shoots in for a double leg but Owen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Owen stuffs the takedown.
Forge fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Owen closes the distance and clinches.
Forge working aggressively here.

Owen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Forge uses from the top position.
Owen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Owen is looking to take a break and control but Forge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
