PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elmer Fudd (ranked 1358 p4p, 178 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 2192 p4p, 277 weight class). Fudd comes to the cage accompanied by Blue On Black. Snitch has chosen I Wanna Rock as his entrance music. Jon Snitch told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elmer Fudd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snitch looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fudd is fending him off so far but Snitch persists. Nope, Fudd circles away and we're back to standing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Snitch has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fudd moves away from the strike by Snitch.
Fudd with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Snitch looks to clinch
and Fudd counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Snitch tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fudd defends well and Snitch ends up having to push Fudd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Elmer Fudd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Snitch.

Fudd tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snitch was well out of range. Poor timing from Fudd.

Snitch tries to work over Fudd's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Fudd has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
With the fighters up against the cage, Snitch throws an elbow but misses.
Snitch goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fudd prevents it.

Fudd pushes Snitch back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fudd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Snitch's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Snitch wants to stall.
Snitch has Fudd pressed against the cage.
Snitch is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fudd is keeping busy.
Snitch is looking for a takedown.

Fudd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Snitch defending well as Fudd loads up on a big left hand.
Snitch is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Fudd moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Snitch takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Fudd went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Fudd clinches up against the cage.
Snitch is looking to control Fudd's arms but Fudd gets an underhook and turns him. Now Snitch has his back to the cage.
Fudd lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Snitch is rocked!

Fudd swings wildly with an uppercut but Snitch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Snitch is still on wobbly legs! Can Fudd finish him?

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fudd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Snitch gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Fudd points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Snitch wakes up just in time to hear Fudd thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Elmer Fudd!
Elmer Fudd really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
The defeated Jon Snitch had this to say: 'This loss will make me better, I will be back.'.
